The Ornery Old Lady is In Love!

That's right, Folks, it's the Ornery Old Lady here to announce that I am so in love...

With my Zenchef Bread Machine!

I honestly don't know how I got along without this little gem. So far, I've made a lovely sourdough loaf (from a mix, admissibly, to test the waters, so to speak) and I've got a Bisquick pumpkin bread going right now to use up the leftover pumpkin pie filling I had in the fridge.

I decided it was time for a bread machine after my unfortunate debacle falling asleep while my bread was baking. I didn't set off the smoke alarms, but the bread was way too crispy to be enjoyable. I figured that if I had a bread machine and fell asleep, it wouldn't make any difference because the bread machine will just keep the bread safe and warm while I snooze.

The Zenchef bread machine is reasonably priced. It has numerous settings. I made the sourdough bread on the basic setting and am making the pumpkin bread on the Quick Bread setting. There are even settings for such things as yogurt, sticky rice, and rice wine. I don't know if I'll ever get around to using those, but I can guarantee that I'll be making lots of bread.

I found a wonderful recipe for quick sourdough bread that I'm going to try once this loaf has been consumed.

Here is the Bisquick pumpkin bread recipe. I had Libby's pumpkin pie mix which already has the sugar and spice in it so I eliminated those.

Grover has bread machines and some of the ingredients you'll need here in his general store. Happy baking!
